We ensure that Gävle grows and provides exciting experiences for its residents. The School Transport and Public Transport unit is part of the operational service within the Livsmiljö sector. The unit makes administrative decisions based on individual assessments and applicable practices in matters related to school transport, student travel, public transport, national public transport, and parking permits for people with disabilities. In line with Livsmiljö's goals and direction, it is our mission to create the right conditions to facilitate people’s everyday lives. The unit consists of 6 case officers, and we are stationed at the Administrative Building in Gävle. We now need an additional team member for a fixed-term position from February 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension. TASKS Are you someone who easily takes responsibility and works independently based on clear requirements and guidelines? Are you confident and experienced in communicating with customers both verbally and in writing? Then you might be the person we are looking for as a School Transport and Public Transport Case Officer. Come and help make Gävle safer with us! In the role of School Transport and Public Transport Case Officer, you will be responsible for matters concerning school transport, student travel, public transport, national public transport, and parking permits for people with disabilities. Your mission will be to process, administer, and make decisions on these issues based on applicable laws, practices, and guidelines. Your tasks will also include investigative work related to traffic safety, disabilities, and accessibility. You will join a unit that is in the midst of a transformation of existing processes, IT systems, and services. In this position, you will work on behalf of the Community Building Committee. This assignment may involve preparing statements, decision-making materials, or other information requested by the Community Building Committee. The position entails being the unit's representative to the municipality's residents. You are comfortable taking responsibility and working independently towards clear requirements and guidelines, as the work involves exercising authority. The job also includes developing contacts with both internal and external parties as well as participating in the unit's development work. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a higher education degree relevant to the position, such as a degree in social work, social sciences, or political science. To be considered for the position, you should have previous work experience in exercising authority within the last three years. Proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required. Additionally, you should have experience in a service role where you are accustomed to meeting customers based on their individual needs, both in writing and verbally. It is considered an advantage if you have participated in development projects related to digitization or the development of existing IT systems. As a person, you have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally, and collaborate well with individuals in various contexts and functions. You plan and organize your work, set goals, allocate resources, follow up, and complete activities. Your initiative is strong, and you can make quick and clear decisions both independently and in collaboration with others. You recognize what needs to be prioritized, are efficient, and utilize resources effectively to achieve results, while also finding alternative solutions to emerging problems.
