About this role
Silex Microsystems is the world’s leading pure-play MEMS foundry, customizing solutions for prominent global clients in industries such as pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, and automotive. The Analysis team owns a significant part of the in-line measurement processes at Silex, making it a key determining factor in our overall manufacturing quality. As we continue to grow rapidly, we are now looking to strengthen the team with a new member who can help elevate our Analysis area to the next level.
**The Area**
The Analysis Area at Silex focuses on metrology and in-line measurement processes that ensure our manufacturing is precise and reliable. We work with techniques such as film thickness, step height, resistivity, particle measurements, and electron microscopy, which are essential for process control and product quality. Utilizing tools such as ellipsometers, reflectometers, profilometers, particle counters, and a variety of microscopes, the team aims to provide accurate data and analysis to support our manufacturing areas in both the development stage and production.
The area is still growing, which means there is room for improvement, such as enhancing calibration procedures to strengthen our processes further. We are also in the process of acquiring new tools to increase measurement stability and capacity at Silex. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to shape the future of the area, learn advanced measurement techniques, and contribute to next-generation technology development in metrology.
**The Role**
As a Process Engineer in the Analysis area, you will play a key role in the development, optimization, and sustainment of Silex’s in-line measurement processes (film thickness measurement, step height measurement, resistivity measurement, etc.). These measurement processes ensure that our manufacturing is stable and repeatable, and that our customers’ products meet high-quality standards.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop quality controls, drive process improvements, ensure product quality, and support the development of next-generation technologies. You will spend approximately 50% of your time in the cleanroom.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and optimize measurement processes for MEMS manufacturing.
- Provide technical support and expertise to quickly resolve process-related issues.
- Define and perform Type 1 gauge studies and Measurement System Analyses (MSAs) to determine capability and variation in our measurement systems.
- Collaborate with the service team and equipment suppliers to ensure equipment stability and qualify new equipment.
- Set up new measurement recipes for development batches and manage production stoppages.
- Work with internal product managers to ensure customer requirements and delivery goals are met.
**We are looking for someone who has:**
- Knowledge of material analysis techniques such as reflectometry, ellipsometry, SEM, and AFM.
- An understanding of statistical methods and data processing.
- A master’s degree in engineering, physics, or another relevant field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and self-driven initiative.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- A desire to continuously improve work processes and enhance team performance.
**It's a bonus if you also bring:**
- Experience with automated semiconductor metrology equipment.
- Proficiency in a programming language used for data analysis.
