About this role

Welcome to Formas, a research council for sustainable development! We fund research and innovation that can contribute to achieving the UN's global sustainability goals and develop knowledge bases to facilitate Sweden's attainment of environmental objectives. We have a strong focus on collaboration with researchers and various societal stakeholders, both in Sweden and internationally. In the role of GD Coordinator, you will be a key person who, through qualitative support, contributes to enabling both the Director General (GD) and management to perform their tasks effectively. This role also includes providing administrative support to the Climate Policy Council. We are looking for someone who enjoys a wide range of varied tasks, from coordinating and administering the management team's work to handling strategic tasks related to the agency's management and governance processes. This includes managing the GD's calendar, meeting and travel bookings, and taking administrative responsibility for the management team's meetings as well as the GD's preparation and decision-making processes. Depending on the applicant's profile and interests, additional tasks may be assigned. We are seeking candidates who have: • a relevant academic degree for the position and a few years of similar professional experience • experience working independently as administrative support to senior management • strong verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English • proficiency in various aspects of the Office suite and enjoy working with digital solutions • a genuine interest in providing support and service. It is an advantage if you have experience in any of the following: • working within the public sector • having administrative responsibility for a management team or board work • networking, preferably with a wide range of external contacts • contributing to the development of governance processes • working in an academically oriented environment, preferably within one of Formas' thematic areas Who are you? Working at Formas Formas is a government agency with approximately 110 employees. Our areas of operation include the environment, agricultural sectors, and community building. This means we fund research and innovation related to climate, circular economy, food, forestry and agriculture, oceans and water, and urban planning. Additionally, we develop strategies, conduct analyses, compile knowledge bases, and communicate about research and research results. About the employment You will be employed as GD Coordinator and organizationally placed in the Administrative Department. You will report to the Director General. The position is a permanent full-time employment.
