About this role

About the Role

Robertsfors Municipality is a coastal community characterized by openness among people, ideas, and places. Here, individuals live and work to make the most of life. Robertsfors Municipality is entering a historically expansive period, thanks to its attractive location between the cities of Skellefteå and Umeå. Along the northern coast, substantial investments are being made in infrastructure and business establishments, offering exciting development opportunities for Robertsfors Municipality.

Robertsfors benefits from the advantages of a smaller municipality, namely the proximity between individuals and decision-makers. Furthermore, the municipality is conveniently situated within commuting distance from the larger neighboring municipalities of Umeå and Skellefteå and is part of the Umeå region. Once the Norrbotnia Railway is completed, with its transport hub in central Robertsfors, the commuting time between Robertsfors and the neighboring cities will be halved. Robertsfors Municipality employs over 750 monthly staff.

We are currently seeking two dedicated unit managers for health and social care in Robertsfors Municipality.

Responsibilities

The role of unit manager is an inspiring and meaningful assignment where you will have the opportunity to influence and develop an important service that makes a real difference for people with diverse and individual needs.

Description of the operation:

  • Elderly care and disability care are separate operational areas within the social sector of Robertsfors Municipality. We are now looking for unit managers for each area – one for elderly care and one for LSS/personal assistance.

Within elderly care, we provide support, assistance, and care to elderly individuals based on the Social Services Act (SoL). Our services include home care, special accommodations, short-term stays, dementia care, and day activities. The work is characterized by safety, dignity, and participation – where every individual is given the conditions for a meaningful everyday life.

In disability care, we provide interventions and support according to the LSS – the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons. Here, we work with personal assistance, group homes, service apartments, short-term housing, and daily activities. Our goal is for each individual to live as independently and actively as possible, with influence over their daily life.

Your mission

As a unit manager, you are responsible for leading, developing, and monitoring the operations together with colleagues in the management team. You have overall responsibility for personnel, finances, work environment, and quality, working to ensure that the operations are conducted according to applicable legislation, goals, and values.

You will lead engaged employees and create conditions for well-being, participation, and professional development. Your role also includes actively contributing to development work within the sector and collaborating with other stakeholders – both internally and externally – to create a cohesive support system for the municipality's residents.

As a leader, you are confident, present, and receptive. You dare to make decisions, communicate clearly, and inspire through your ability to engage others.

Requirements

You have:

  • An academic degree, such as in social work, social education or other relevant higher education.
  • Good knowledge of the target group and applicable legislation (LSS and/or SoL).
  • Experience in leadership and/or operational responsibility within health and social care.
  • Interest and understanding of quality work, work environment, and finances.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have experience in:

  • Lifecare or other digital support systems for health and social care.
  • Work within personal assistance, LSS, or elderly care.
  • Leading personnel and/or operations within personal assistance, LSS, or elderly care.

A B-driving license is also meritorious.

Is this you? You possess personal maturity that enables you to lead with confidence, respect, and a professional approach. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with others to create an operation where both employees and users feel seen and involved. You have a holistic perspective and can balance individual needs with the goals and resources of the operation. You are quality-conscious and systematically work to develop and monitor interventions that make a significant difference in people's everyday lives.

Benefits

Working in Robertsfors Municipality means you will be part of an organization on the move, where proximity, development, and collaboration are key principles. We are a smaller municipality with short decision-making paths and close relationships with both colleagues and residents—giving you the opportunity to truly make an impact.

We offer:

  • A secure employment with a pension plan and salary according to agreement.
  • Flexitime agreements and the ability to balance work and leisure.
  • Wellness benefits and free access to the municipality’s swimming pool once a week.
  • Vacation swapping.
  • Competence development and leadership support through an active network of managers and HR.
  • A work environment.
