We are now looking for someone to lead the Individual and Support Unit in the development work related to the new Social Services Act and other upcoming changes within the unit's areas. The unit is one of four within Individual and Family Services, which in turn is part of the Social Administration. The unit handles issues related to financial assistance, housing, and budget and debt counseling and consists of 9 employees. You will be part of the management team for Individual and Family Services and work closely with the unit managers for Reception and Investigation, Foster Care, and Follow-up, and Open Care. JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for a unit manager who wants a varied role, is eager to drive change, and wants to contribute to creating an Individual and Family Services that has a clear holistic perspective and can meet the changing needs and challenges of the future. With us, you will have the opportunity to think outside the box and use your and the team's creativity to find new paths and working methods! You will report directly to the head of Individual and Family Services and be responsible for the daily operations of your unit. You will have budget, work environment, personnel, and operational responsibility for the unit, which means you will plan, lead, implement, follow up, and develop the operations in accordance with current legislation and political decisions. Together with employees, colleagues, and the management team, you will work to ensure that the unit's assignments and goals are achieved. An important managerial responsibility is, of course, to ensure that the individuals the service interacts with experience the highest possible level of participation and self-determination. QUALIFICATIONS You are a Social Worker or have another behavioral science education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience collaborating with other authorities and stakeholders in the field. It is an advantage if you have experience in management within a politically governed organization. It is a requirement that you have experience or solid knowledge of working with financial assistance, and it is a merit if you also have experience/knowledge of the unit's other areas of operation. You are well-informed about the legislative changes coming in financial assistance in the coming years, and it is a merit if you have experience working on development projects related to these changes. You must have previous leadership experience, and it is a merit if you have leadership training. Experience and/or training in trust-based governance and leadership is a merit. You need to have a leadership style that sensitively contributes to creating conditions for your employees to perform quality work under good working conditions. Through an involving, visible, and coaching leadership style, you empower employees and develop a trusting work climate. You are not afraid to delegate responsibility or follow up on results. A willingness and ability to create a positive and participatory collaborative climate is seen as a given prerequisite, as is a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing.
