About this role

As one of our unit managers is retiring this summer, we are looking for someone who wants to continue developing and driving our section forward. As a unit manager within daily activities and employment, you will help create job satisfaction and make a real difference. The immediate team consists of a section manager, nine unit managers, and three administrative assistants who provide support to the manager. The unit managers and administrative assistants work in shared facilities, which fosters good collaboration and collegial learning. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a unit manager, you will have operational, financial, personnel, and work environment responsibilities, where development and improvement work is a natural part of your leadership role. Through your work, you create conditions for your employees to contribute to our citizens living a dignified life and feeling well. Daily activities and employment aim to provide meaningful engagement that leads to independence and personal development. The services should be tailored as much as possible to individual needs and interests. In Tranås municipality, we have several different operations: industry and media, outdoor activities focused on stables, gardening and parks, creative services, café operations, and retail. In this position, you will have managerial responsibility for about 30 employees. Together with your fellow managers, you will work towards good relationships and a positive collaborative climate, where you play an important role in engaging and motivating our employees to continue participating in the ongoing development work of the section. You will lead and allocate work, drive operational development projects, conduct regular employee and salary conversations, and strive to use available resources effectively. As a manager, you will have access to several internal support functions, such as finance, HR, and communication support. These resources are available to provide you and your employees with the right tools to handle the challenges that may arise in the work. ABOUT THE WORKPLACE The Health and Care Administration works with people through all stages of life and creates better conditions for people's quality of life. The administration consists of home care, special housing, support and care, authority work for the elderly and people with disabilities, staffing, and municipal health care. As part of the administration, you will help make Tranås better for our residents by providing support in their daily lives. In the coming years, the focus areas within the administration will be to meet the challenges of workforce supply, changes in work methods, and developing internal and external collaboration. We are part of the vocational journey, a national initiative to enhance competence within disability care. The Support and Care section is responsible for the services in the municipality aimed at individuals with various forms of physical and mental disabilities. We provide housing, housing support, daily activities, personal assistance, escort services, and more. The section's work is characterized by a strong commitment to fulfilling the mission for the individuals we meet daily in our operations, and we currently have around 200 knowledgeable and driven employees. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for someone with experience in a leadership role, preferably within the field of social services. You have an academic education that the employer finds relevant for the position. We view positively if you have experience and knowledge regarding services governed by the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and the Social Services Act. The position involves continuous collaboration with employees and colleagues within the section, other managers within the municipality's administrations, and external parties related to the operations, which requires good dialogue and communication skills.
