Your new job
As a youth counselor, you will be responsible, together with your colleagues, for the daily care of the youth in a home-like environment. Motivation, structure, support, and trust are key components of the work. Encouraging school attendance and leisure activities is a natural part of the role. The work is based on a systemic approach aimed at unlocking resources within the individual, the family, and the entire network. Various forms of therapeutic conversations are included in the treatment offerings to achieve change, including both individual sessions and parental support discussions.
Your qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are social workers, social pedagogues, treatment pedagogues, occupational therapists, nurses, or have another relevant degree of at least 2 years at the post-secondary level.
You are a stable individual who can provide respectful interactions and create a balance to ensure treatment success. Furthermore, we see that you are a trustworthy person capable of establishing and maintaining good relationships with youth and their families. In the recruitment process, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Administrative skills are essential for managing documentation in the role.
A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement for the position, and you should be able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles in the course of your duties.
Desirable qualifications
Experience working with youth exhibiting various types of problematic behavior is advantageous.
Training in systems theory, low-arousal approaches in practice, attachment theory, dialectical behavior therapy, and neuropsychiatry/psychiatry, as well as knowledge of laws in the social field, BBIC, MI, ICDP, TMO, Signs of Safety, and solution-focused thinking, is also beneficial.

HVB Kärrarp
Here, girls aged 13-20 with psychosocial issues reside. Kärrarp has 7 places and the capacity for emergency placements around the clock. Those living here are youth placed under SoL or LVU. The staff works together with the youth to make daily life function and to find tools to prepare for the future. Motivation, structure, support, and trust are essential components of the work.
HVB Prinseryd
Here, boys aged 13-20 with psychosocial issues, behavioral problems, and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities reside. The facility has 8 places and also allows for emergency placements around the clock. Placements are made with support from SoL or LVU. The staff collaborates with the youth to ensure daily life functions smoothly. Motivation, structure, support, and trust are key elements of the work.
Good to know
The recruitment concerns several permanent full-time positions, with start dates to be agreed upon at both HVB Kärrarp and HVB Prinseryd. Scheduled working hours include days, evenings, on-call shifts, and weekend duties. We use ongoing selection and interviews. A probationary period may be applied.
