About this role

As an archivist, you will assist the archival authority in its supervisory activities and advisory services. You will conduct oversight of archival care, provide advice and support, and train departments on archival and information reporting issues, participate in the development of governing documents in the field, and carry out preservation and disposal investigations. Your responsibilities will include organizing and cataloging archives, conducting confidentiality assessments, and releasing public documents. Region Kalmar County will transition to digital preservation of documents, and you will play a central role in this work. A preliminary study for a region-wide e-archive will be developed, for which you will be responsible for leading the efforts to define requirements, procure, and implement a region-wide e-archive. Contacts and collaboration with all parts of the region will be a natural and important aspect of the work, particularly with the IT department. In the long term, you may become the owner/manager of the archival support that will be implemented and maintained. Your role will also involve planning and coordinating the development and implementation of the delivery process to the e-archive. About you We are looking for an archivist with both a historical and forward-looking perspective, who is familiar with traditional archivist tasks and possesses the knowledge to help transition to new digital working methods. We seek candidates with an academic degree in archival and information science or equivalent education, as well as experience as an archivist, e-archivist, IT archivist, or in similar roles. Experience working with IT systems, system management, or project management within the public sector is preferred. You should have strong competence and experience with regulations concerning public access and confidentiality. We also value experience working with, or a solid understanding of, process-based information reporting and e-archives. As a person, you are driven, enjoy being part of a team, and have a knack for communicating and collaborating with others. You can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and find it stimulating to work on both routine matters and more complex issues. The tasks require you to be service-oriented, possess good communication skills, be structured and meticulous. You are solution- and development-oriented. A valid driver's license (category B) is preferred, as the position is region-wide. Your future workplace The Regional Administration Office is responsible for preparing matters for the regional council, regional board, committees, and working groups. Additionally, there are functions such as data protection officers, lawyers, archivists, document controllers, secretaries, and case officers within the office. Our unit is part of the Regional Administration, which consists of 150 employees with expertise in areas such as finance, law, HR, communication, planning, coordination, sustainability, security, infection control, and healthcare hygiene. Everyone works to develop the organization and improve the lives of residents in Kalmar County.
