Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager – Chemicals & Biorefinery to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
• Take full ownership of complex EPCM projects within the Chemicals & Biorefinery sector, driving execution across Engineering, Procurement, Pre-fabrication, Construction, and Completion.
• Establish and implement robust commercial strategies in alignment with the Project Sponsor and organizational objectives.
• Lead, coach, and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring effective resource planning, competence development, and performance management.
• Oversee cost, schedule, and contract performance through structured planning, forecasting, reporting, and cost-control processes.
• Drive proactive risk and opportunity management, maintaining a transparent and up-to-date risk register.
• Lead contract and change management processes, including claims, negotiations, and commercial reviews.
• Ensure full compliance with EPCM model, quality management systems, and HSE&S standards throughout all project phases.
• Maintain strong client, partner, and stakeholder relationships, providing clear communication and reporting to Sponsors, Steering Groups, and senior management.
• Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement across projects to strengthen organizational performance and delivery excellence.
What you bring:
• Minimum 12+ years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Director within EPCM or contractor-side industrial projects.
• Proven success leading large-scale, multi-discipline CAPEX investments within Chemicals, Biorefinery, or related process industries.
• Strong commercial and contractual acumen with experience in contract reviews, change/claim management, and negotiations.
• Demonstrated financial ownership and accountability for project performance, including cost control, invoicing, forecasting, and profitability management.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing high-performing teams and engaging with senior stakeholders and international clients.
• Advanced understanding of project controls and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
• Technical or engineering degree (or equivalent) with a solid understanding of process, mechanical, or industrial systems.
• PMP, IPMA, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written; Swedish language skills are an advantage.
• Based in or available to work 4–5 days per week in the Gothenburg area
