Senior Backend Developer

Job Title: Senior Backend Developer Location: Stockholm or Sundsvall, Sweden Work Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum 2 days/week in office) Contract Type: Full-time, 12 months (with possible extensions) About the Role We are seeking experienced backend developers to join a team delivering secure and high-quality enterprise solutions. The role focuses on backend system development, ensuring performance, scalability, and security while working in an agile, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and modern frameworks. • Implement microservices architecture and support containerized deployments (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift). • Ensure high standards of security in all aspects of system design and implementation. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams following agile practices. • Configure and maintain development tools such as Git, Maven, or Gradle. • Contribute to system monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. • Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship of junior team members. Required Skills & Experience • Java development: minimum 5 years of experience • Linux environment: minimum 3 years of experience • Microservices architecture: minimum 3 years of experience • Experience with Quarkus, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks • Knowledge of Git, Maven, Gradle, or similar development tools • Agile team-based development experience (minimum 3 years) • Fluency in English and Swedish (spoken and written) Preferred Skills • Experience with PKI, certificate management, or cryptographic security • Exposure to frontend/app development • Experience in containerized system operations and monitoring • Knowledge of SAML2, OAuth2, OpenID • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and caching solutions • Familiarity with message queues such as Kafka • Contribution to open-source projects Competence Level • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks • Experience leading small teams or sub-projects • 4–8 years of relevant professional experience Additional Information • Full-time role, 40 hours per week • Security clearance may be required depending on the project • Travel between Stockholm and Sundsvall may be needed for team meetings Why Join Us • Work on innovative backend solutions with a focus on security and scalability • Collaborate in a professional and agile environment • Opportunity to mentor and grow your technical expertise Öppen för alla Vi fokuserar på din kompetens, inte dina övriga förutsättningar.
