Vadsbogymnasiet is a school characterized by safety and a conducive learning environment where students and staff thrive and can focus on learning and education. The school enjoys low teacher turnover. We offer 12 programs that operate within well-functioning teams led by program leaders who work closely with the school principals. Vadsbogymnasiet is the natural choice for students in and around Mariestad, with approximately 700 students currently enrolled in both college preparatory and vocational programs.
The student health team at the school collaborates closely with the programs and alongside you as a teacher to create optimal conditions for our students.
We are now seeking to fill a position for a vocational teacher in the Electrical and Energy Program with a focus on automation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a vocational teacher in the Electrical and Energy Program, you will be part of a team of four vocational teachers with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including installation, property automation, data and media, security, and industry. We are looking for candidates with expertise in property automation, data-media, and industry, although various combinations of other competencies may also be of interest to us.
In your role, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of teaching across various courses depending on grade level, competency, and your experience. In addition to teaching, you will also be responsible for securing and following up on work placements (APL) and mentoring a particular grade. As a mentor, you will play a critical role in monitoring your students’ academic development and study situations throughout their three years in the program. This is a vital part of the job, requiring commitment and accountability. As a mentor, you should also be communicative and possess a strong ability to foster a positive learning environment for your students.
QUALIFICATIONS
We primarily seek candidates who are qualified vocational teachers with a teaching license and possess substantial experience in the electrical industry.
You have a genuine interest in sharing your professional knowledge and contributing to the development of others. Experience in supervising students during APL, introducing new colleagues, or leading youth in community activities is considered an asset.
We would prefer candidates with experience in control and regulation technology in industry and/or those who have worked with property automation.
As a person, you are secure and stable, and you enjoy both collaborating in teams and taking individual responsibility. We believe that your personal qualities are of great importance, and we are looking for someone with strong communication skills, who is engaged and has a strong interest in helping students develop and achieve their goals. You are committed to working with your colleagues to further develop the program and its specialized courses in line with industry trends. You also value good relationships with employers and partners in the electrical industry.
