About this role

We are now seeking two vocational teachers in game development! Your Workplace Kristinehamn Folk High School is currently building a center for game development. Under the name Dragon Game Education, four vocational training programs in digital games will launch in autumn 2026. We are now seeking two vocational teachers, one for the Indie Game Development program and one for the Game Production and Portfolio program. Your Responsibilities The positions involve teaching game development through lectures and guidance, both individually and in groups during the year's many game projects. You will have class mentor responsibilities for either Indie Game Development or Game Production and Portfolio. In addition to teaching, the role includes participating in program marketing, student admissions, and organizing and accompanying students on study visits and trips. A B driver's license will be required. A significant part of the positions involves networking with internal and external actors and maintaining close industry contacts. As a folk high school teacher, you have considerable freedom to shape the education based on participant and industry needs. As an employee, you are part of the entire school's activities, which include cross-course, community-focused activities. Teaching will primarily be conducted in English. Your Knowledge and Competencies Both positions require relevant education in game development. For the Indie Game Development course, a broad, practical competence across various game development areas is required. For the Game Production and Portfolio group, you should have experience in producing and releasing games and an established network within the game industry. You should also be comfortable networking and finding and booking relevant guest lecturers and mentors based on participants' specializations. We prefer candidates with teaching experience. Previous work in the game industry is considered meritorious, as is experience in leadership, entrepreneurship, production, and design. We are seeking an engaged, relationship-building person with a holistic view and strong quality awareness for a role where you will help shape future game developers. We view positively potential candidates who might want to combine a part-time position with running their own game studio or working as a game development freelancer.
