Our Employment Offer
Do you want to contribute to a safer and more secure working environment in healthcare? Do you have experience in occupational health work, teaching, or measurement technology within occupational hygiene or a related field? The Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine (CAMM) is now seeking a dedicated occupational hygienist for the task of training testers, providing advice on respiratory protection, and conducting fit tests using advanced particle measurement methods.
Description
Starting in 2025, the Swedish Work Environment Authority has clarified regulations regarding measures to reduce the risk of airborne infections in the workplace. Employers must ensure that respiratory protection is individually fitted and provides a tight seal during use.
CAMM has been tasked with coordinating Region Stockholm's work on fit testing and training. A central part of this assignment is to establish a sustainable structure where fit tests can be conducted locally, with support and quality assurance from CAMM's occupational hygienists.
Job Description
As an occupational hygienist within the project, you will be responsible for:
- Training and certifying local test leaders in fit testing of respiratory protection
- Providing advice and expert support to healthcare operations regarding the selection and correct use of respiratory protection
- Participating in risk assessments related to airborne infections and exposure
- Conducting fit testing using quantitative particle measurement methods (PortaCount or equivalent)
- Contributing to method development, quality assurance, and evaluation of the testing activities
- Collaborating with project leaders, infection control, infection clinics, and Central HR
You will work closely with experienced occupational hygienists and healthcare hygiene experts and contribute to building a long-term competence structure within the region.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic background in a relevant field, such as occupational hygiene, occupational health, chemistry, biology, or engineering
- Experience in occupational health work, risk assessments, or similar activities
- Strong pedagogical skills and an interest in teaching and mentoring
- The ability to work independently, in a structured manner, and with a solutions-oriented approach
- Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- An interest in and preferably experience with technical measuring equipment
Meritorious:
- Experience as an occupational hygienist or occupational health engineer
- Knowledge of respiratory protection and fit testing
- Experience with measurements using particle counters or other quantitative exposure measurements
- Experience in training activities within occupational health or healthcare
- A driver's license (meritorious, as some equipment is transported to facilities)
Personal Characteristics
You are meticulous, pedagogical, and possess strong analytical skills. You thrive in the role of advisor and educator and easily build trust with various professionals. You have an interest in both technology and people and are driven to contribute to improved working conditions and safety in healthcare.

Employment Type: General fixed-term employment full-time, or a training position for one year, with the possibility of extension. Start Date: As soon as possible or by agreement.
