About this role

The University of Skövde is a central and leading player in education, research, and collaboration that supports the transition to a sustainable future – regionally, nationally, and internationally. Our 10,000 students and 500 employees create the conditions for society's digital transformation and sustainable community development through high-quality education and research in selected areas. Welcome to a vibrant campus in the heart of Skaraborg. About us In the Department of Marketing and Communication, we are twelve colleagues who together strengthen the University’s brand. You will join our web team, where three web editors are currently building a smarter and more coordinated way of working. We focus on user-friendliness, accessibility, and content that genuinely helps people. We work closely together and appreciate when ideas quickly turn into action. Here, it is easy to ask questions, test, and innovate. We believe that great things happen when we collaborate and dare to think differently. At the University of Skövde, we work together, closely and interdisciplinary, to create engagement, quality, and results on a lively campus. We share responsibility for tasks and work towards the organization’s goals. The University’s conditions create good opportunities for proximity and collaboration between institutions, departments, students, colleagues, and partners. As the web team is currently participating in a project to develop a new platform for internal communication, we need you to take the baton in the daily web work. We also want you to be involved as we shape how we will work moving forward. You will have the opportunity to influence, improve, and put your stamp on both content and working methods. We are looking for someone who enjoys diving deep into web-related topics, who prefers to test rather than wait for perfect conditions. If you also believe that communication should be clear, human, and fun, you should apply for this position! Your role As a web editor, you will be the spider in the web for our websites – his.se, the student portal, and our intranet. You will help our colleagues present their content in the best possible way and ensure that the web feels simple, current, and accessible. You will: • Publish and update content. • Provide support to colleagues who want to publish themselves. • Plan communication efforts. • Edit texts for publication on the web. • Monitor statistics and user behavior to improve the web further. • Contribute to the development of the web team’s working methods. Additional tasks may be included in the position. We are looking for someone who has: • An academic degree at least at the bachelor’s level in media and communication studies or equivalent. • At least one year of experience working as a web editor. • Documented experience of working independently and strategically with content development on websites. • Experience with web analytics tools and SEO. • Editorial competence, including experience in creating and editing content tailored to target audiences and tone. • Documented good collaboration skills. • A good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English. We will also value the following criteria during the hiring process: • Experience using AI tools for content optimization, analysis, or automation of digital processes. • A structured working method. Employment type: The position is a fixed-term employment for one year. Scope: 100% Application deadline: December 12, 2025 Reference number: Ref no HS 2025/653 Start date: By agreement Contact information: For inquiries about the position, please contact department head Tanja Thompson. Union information can be provided by Anders Johansson (Saco-S) or Sonja Nohlgren (ST). All individuals can be reached through the University’s switchboard at 0500-44 80 00.
