About this role

The 1825 Foundation is now seeking an engaged, structured, and relationship-oriented Volunteer Coordinator for our growing volunteer operations, which take place both in Stockholm, digitally, and soon in several other locations across Sweden. About 1825 – For the Mental Health of Young Adults The 1825 Foundation is a non-profit organization driven by ideals, aimed at preventing and reducing mental health issues among young adults aged 18-25. We achieve this through psychotherapy, psychosocial support, knowledge development, and advocacy work. We strive for a society where all young adults enjoy good mental health and receive the support they desire when they need it. Currently, we have over 100 qualified volunteers providing support and treatment to young adults at our reception in Kungsholmen, Stockholm, as well as digitally. In parallel with direct support work, we engage in knowledge development where we collect data, monitor results, and disseminate insights regarding the mental health of young adults. Our ambition is to contribute to a greater understanding of the target group’s needs and advocate for long-term systemic changes. We also engage in advocacy work to highlight the needs of young adults in public discourse and influence decision-makers, authorities, and organizations towards more accessible and equitable support for those suffering from mental health issues. In this way, we combine practical change work with social impact – where every conversation, every volunteer, and every story contributes to a larger movement for young people's mental health. About the Role The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and developing the part of our volunteer operations that focuses on support and treatment. This role includes recruiting and onboarding qualified volunteers, coordinating and supporting existing volunteers, organizing skill-enhancing activities, and contributing to the advancement of the volunteer program. A central part of the role is to ensure that volunteers have a meaningful and rewarding experience while adhering to the organization’s guidelines, routines, and patient safety requirements. The role also involves participating in treatment conferences and close collaboration with the support and treatment team and the communications department. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you are an important ambassador for the organization, which requires strong relational and communication skills. The coordination of volunteer operations encompasses several different aspects, including tracking data and operational goals as well as providing technical support to volunteers, which demands a structured approach, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously. Therefore, we are looking for a versatile, flexible, and self-driven individual with strong organizational skills and a genuine interest in mental health and volunteer engagement. This position is a 12-month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities - Develop and coordinate ongoing volunteer operations. - Recruit, onboard, support, and motivate volunteers. - Ensure quality and compliance with routines and guidelines. - Plan and implement skill-enhancing initiatives, volunteer meetings, and training sessions. - Monitor statistics, key performance indicators, and operational goals related to volunteer activities. Skills and Qualifications You have a relevant higher education degree. The tasks are varied, and we therefore seek broad competence and experience in: - Coordination and management of membership/volunteer activities or other relevant operations - Creating participation and engagement among employees or volunteers - Text production - IT skills and good computer proficiency. It is an advantage if you have experience in: - Issues related to mental health or psychosocial work - Working within the non-profit sector - Recruitment and HR work - Database management. Additional Information The core team consists of ten people, and we currently have about 100 volunteers in the organization. The operations are conducted in our beautiful premises at Fleminggatan 113 and online, at partner locations, and sometimes mobile. We primarily work during daytime office hours, with some evening work for seminars and training sessions. Application At 1825, we value diversity and strive to be an inclusive organization.
