About this role

Welcome to us Risöskolan and Igelbäcksskolan are seeking a substitute music teacher. Risöskolan is Sundbyberg's municipal adapted primary school for students with intellectual disabilities. Approximately 60 students are enrolled across nine classes, from preschool to grade 9. Teaching is conducted in smaller classes and according to the curriculum for adapted primary schools. The school, which recently moved into brand new facilities, has a positive and dedicated staff focused on the students, both as individuals and as a group. Igelbäcksskolan is Sundbyberg's resource school for students diagnosed within the autism spectrum. About 40 students attend grades 4-9. The guiding principles are safety, care, and development. The school has small teaching groups and a high staff-to-student ratio. Great emphasis is placed on meeting students where they are and identifying their strengths. There is a constant focus on development, both socially and academically. Students are given the opportunity to grow based on their conditions and individual needs. Your role We are now looking for a substitute music teacher, as our current music teacher will be on parental leave. We are seeking a music teacher for 100%. 80% of the teaching will take place at Risöskolan and 20% at Igelbäcksskolan. The schools are within comfortable walking distance of each other. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting the music education in both school settings. The position includes responsibility for music assemblies and school graduations. You will be part of the adapted primary school's organization and will form a team with other teachers in practical aesthetic subjects. We have well-equipped classrooms designed for teaching practical aesthetic subjects. Your qualifications and experience We are looking for a licensed music teacher. You should have a good understanding of the school's governing documents for primary and adapted primary schools. You are a clear leader in the classroom and have experience teaching music, as well as experience working in an adapted primary school. As a person, you are flexible and solution-oriented, with the ability to collaborate easily in various contexts and with different groups. You are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. We place great importance on personal suitability, good collaboration skills with students and colleagues, as well as previous experience in similar settings. Additional information The position is a 10-month substitute role during the regular music teacher's parental leave, from January 7, 2026, to October 7, 2026. Application deadline: November 28, 2025. Start date is January 7, 2026, or as agreed. Prior to employment, the employer will request a criminal record extract from the police. A significant part of our operations is classified as essential services. The position may be subject to military placement within the framework of Sundbyberg's role in total defense.
