Örjanskolan is a Waldorf school located in picturesque surroundings right by the Baltic Sea. We have students from preschool up to grade 12 (3-year Science and 3-year Arts high school programs, specializing in Waldorf) and currently, we have approximately 260 students. Nearby, there are various facilities such as Ytterjärna Cultural House and its park with ponds and greenhouses, as well as Nibble Farm with an agricultural high school. A bus with connections that fit the school schedule stops right outside.
**Job Responsibilities**
Our current music and religious studies teacher will be going on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a teacher in music and religion who is experienced in teaching at the middle school/high school level. If it is not possible to find someone who can teach both subjects, we will instead fill the position with two different individuals.
The religious studies teaching primarily concerns grades 7–9, while music covers grades 5-9 and part of the high school. Musical performances are an important part of the school’s celebrations, such as graduations, and part of your role will be to prepare such contributions. We aim to find new, exciting ways to work with music and the school as a cultural venue.
We prefer candidates with several years of experience who enjoy developing Waldorf pedagogy together with their colleagues at Örjanskolan. The position is a part-time temporary role. For more information about the school, please visit our website.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for someone who:
• is a qualified teacher in music and religion, Waldorf training is an advantage
• has a strong commitment to students' learning and development
• has the ability to build good relationships with students
• has good collaboration skills with colleagues and guardians
• has an interest in working with students in need of support
**Personal Attributes**
We place great importance on personal abilities. As a person, you are engaged and have an easy time collaborating with both young adults and adults. You are proactive, structured, positive, flexible, and clear. If you want to help develop the school together with us, we welcome your application!
