About this role

The Royal Court and the Royal Household Chamber are seeking a full-time temporary Housekeeping Technician for the Department of Care and Preservation. The Royal Household Chamber is an office within the Royal Court, which assists the Head of State and the Royal Family in their activities. The Court is also responsible for caring for and exhibiting the cultural heritage associated with the monarchy. The Royal Household Chamber has two main tasks: • To manage (register, document, inventory, care for, and preserve) the state collections of movable property at eleven royal palaces, primarily older furniture, textiles, and art objects, ensuring that the collections can be used for royal representation and displayed, now and in the future. • To furnish the eleven royal palaces, considering the character of the buildings and current use. Within the Department of Care and Preservation, there are a total of 15 conservators, seamstresses, upholsterers, and housekeeping technicians. The work is distributed across all royal palaces, with the main placement at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Job Responsibilities • To assist with furniture transport, storage maintenance, furnishing, and exhibition work within the royal palaces. • To input data regarding ongoing inventory into a digital inventory tool. • To enter information into digital planning and tracking tools. Qualifications • Good experience in handling sensitive and fragile items in a culturally historical environment. • A valid driver's license (Category B). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Additional Information about Employment • The position is a temporary contract for 6 months starting January 1, 2026, with the possibility of a permanent position. • The Court applies individual salary setting. • Before hiring decisions are made, a security screening with a background check will be conducted according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act (2018:585). • The trade unions are represented by Saco, Seko, and OFR/S.
