The Department of Joint Insurance Issues and Survivor Benefits is responsible for administration and management of survivor benefits, control cases, and reclaims for all benefits, involving case handling, decision-making, and contacts with individuals. In addition, the department's task is to manage and develop operations across all benefits at the agency for the benefit of Sweden's pensioners and pension savers. The department's mandate also includes preventing incorrect payments and benefit fraud.
About the Job
We are now seeking a temporary Group Manager in the Survivor Benefits unit. Together with other group managers in the unit, you will have overall responsibility for the operation and be part of a management team where you contribute to operational and tactical work. From a clear employer role, you will have personnel, results, and follow-up responsibility for approximately 20 employees at the Pension Agency's office in Luleå. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted with high quality, service, efficiency, and cost-awareness. Many of our meetings occur digitally, but physical meetings also take place, which means travel is required in the line of duty. You will lead through change and clearly communicate vision, goals, and values to your employees.
As a manager at the Pension Agency, you also have responsibility for driving active workplace health and wellness efforts and contributing to creating a development-oriented workplace. Additionally, you are responsible for creating conditions through dialogue that enable employees to be able and willing to take responsibility for their assignments, goals, and skills development. Your Profile
We are seeking someone who has:
- Academic degree, preferably in a social science subject or equivalent experience that the employer assesses as relevant for the position.
- Experience as a manager in an operational area.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience as a manager with personnel responsibility within a government agency.
- Several years of experience in case management within public administration.
- Experience in driving change and development work in a customer-focused operation.
- Good knowledge of the pension system and its benefits.

The position is a full-time temporary assignment with commencement as soon as possible by agreement and lasting at most until August 31, 2026.
Work location is at the office in Luleå.
