Tallbo Adapted Primary School is located in a scenic area in Strömsbro, just north of Gävle. Here, teaching is conducted in an adapted primary school with a focus on subject areas, grades 1-9. Vallback is centrally located in Gävle, with a focus on subject areas for grades 7-9. Both facilities operate after-school care and supervision (TÖT) in school premises before and after school hours. Our students have intellectual disabilities and are assessed as unable to meet the knowledge requirements of regular primary school. We provide instruction and education tailored to each student's needs and conditions. Education in the adapted primary school gives students important knowledge and values, contributes to personal development and social community, and creates a good foundation for active participation in society.

The role of teaching assistant varies depending on students' situations and school needs. The core mission is to create good relationships with students and work with them both individually and in groups. Work is conducted in classrooms, providing individual support, and group-level support. A significant part of daily work involves supporting and helping students in all everyday situations during school and after-school hours. The role also includes functioning as complementary adult support at the school, working to ensure student well-being and safety.
You will work together with classroom and after-school teams. You will create good relationships with guardians and other school staff. Together, you will design a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with students' best interests at the forefront.
QUALIFICATIONS
As a teaching assistant, you have an important and responsible role. To be considered for this position, you must have:
• Completed high school diploma
• Experience working in adapted primary school or similar settings, such as child or adult care, short-term supervision, daily activities for individuals within the LSS target group
• Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF) and intellectual disabilities (IF)
• Knowledge and experience using digital tools
• Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• Experience and knowledge of low-affective approaches
• We especially welcome knowledge and experience with TAKK (signs as alternative and complementary communication) and AKK (alternative and complementary communication)
In the role of teaching assistant, you should easily create trust and confidence with others and have the ability to spread calm and stability. You help others feel safe in a respectful manner.
You need a non-prestigious approach in your collaboration with students, colleagues, citizens, and other stakeholders.
You have the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire students, helping them develop and thrive. You have a great capacity to adapt your approach and language to different situations.
