The Kronoberg Remand Center's 350 employees and 15 managers manage, lead, and develop an operation that includes arrest, standard departments, restrictive and security departments, and a department for detainees with special needs. The facility can accommodate approximately 370 detainees. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but administrative staff, nurses, and duty officers are also employed. Inmates have opportunities for studies and other structured activities. The Kronoberg Remand Center is a workplace in the heart of the city and is easily accessible, regardless of where you live.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a department head for detained individuals, the most important part of your job is to be a present and accessible manager for your employees. You are the one who makes our employees feel seen and heard. You answer questions big and small, or you need to be attentive and listen to an employee who has handled various challenging issues during the day. Correctional work is a team effort, and you work to create a good workplace culture, good work environment, and ensure that routines and work methods are clear and well-functioning. The Prison and Probation Service's operations are rule-based, and another important part of your job is to stay updated and well-informed about the laws, regulations, and guidelines that affect the operation.
As a department head at the Kronoberg Remand Center, you are part of the local management team together with your 13 fellow managers and the remand center chief. Together, we are responsible for a high-quality operation and work collectively to maintain a good work environment and high security. To create a safe workplace, we work together in a structured and goal-oriented manner in management, always keeping the operation's best interests in mind.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is good at collaboration, unpretentious, and able to create engagement and participation. You are clear in your communication and can adapt your message based on the recipient's conditions. In your leadership role, you can motivate others and create the conditions necessary to effectively achieve common goals. You work well with complex issues and thrive when you can take initiative and start activities. In challenging situations, you are flexible in your actions and remain calm and professional.
We are looking for someone who has:
• Academic education or other education combined with work experience
• Management experience (personnel, budget, work environment responsibility)
• Good Swedish language skills, both verbal and written
It is meritorious to have:
• Prison and Probation Service leadership training
• Experience working within the Prison and Probation Service, preferably at a remand center
Interviews will be conducted in Liljeholmen on the afternoon of December 17.
