About this role

PMU SECOND HAND – Your Find Changes Lives and the Environment PMU Second Hand is Sweden's most nationwide second-hand chain. Together with our collaboration parishes/associations, we operate 56 stores between Trelleborg and Haparanda. 23 of these are fully administered by PMU, which means we have direct employer responsibility. The purpose of the stores is to create economic resources for international projects supported by PMU or our partners. Through the stores, we also make significant local social contributions. Shopping second-hand is moreover the most environmentally friendly consumption option. We want to challenge parishes to see PMU Second Hand as a tool for being a true parish. We believe a second-hand store needs to be run in a business-like manner while ensuring customers still experience finding great deals. We want donors, employees, and customers to feel they are truly changing lives and the environment. Everyone's contributions are that important. Our mission as a central organization is to support stores in driving and developing their operations successfully. We also have a mission to open more stores. ABOUT THE STORE In collaboration with the Pentecostal Church in Östersund, we run a fresh store. The store is well-established and known in its area and is in an expansive and developmental phase. We want to continue the positive development the store has had so far and are therefore seeking a driven and inspiring leader. The store is centrally administered by PMU Second Hand but run locally in cooperation with the Pentecostal Church in Östersund. Store objectives: • Generate economic surplus for social and humanitarian efforts through projects PMU and the church are engaged in • Serve as a social meeting place • Provide employment for people outside the regular labor market • Actively make a significant environmental difference • Spread knowledge about situations in developing countries • Be a platform to make PMU and the church more known in Östersund ABOUT THE POSITION As Acting Store Manager, you will lead the daily operations of the store together with the Operations Manager. You will work-manage volunteers and individuals in various work training programs. The work focuses on creating maximum throughput of donated goods. This means maximizing sales and creating an attractive store and donation reception. You will personally be involved in preparing the store for sales and working in the store when it is open. The position also involves close cooperation with the parish involved in operations. As store manager, you are ultimately responsible on-site for issues affecting daily work when the operations manager is not present. You will receive excellent central support from Regional Manager, Store Developer, Marketing Communicator, and Management in your work. The position is full-time with start date January 1, 2026, or by agreement. This is a time-limited position extending to the end of February 2028. You will report to the Operations Manager. As a person, you are organized, results-oriented, and clear in communication. You understand the value of being a leader and a manager. You should have experience in similar jobs and love second-hand. You may also bring other important experience that can contribute to our store's growth.
