Welcome to us at Växjö Municipality! JOB DESCRIPTION Braås Library, part of Växjö Library, is now seeking a creative and dedicated librarian who wants to make a real impact. Here, children and youth, collaboration with the local community, and a welcoming attitude are at the center of our work. Together, we create a space where everyone feels welcome. As a librarian, you will be part of our team for Children and Youth. Together, we develop an educational, inclusive, and inspiring service that reaches out across Växjö Municipality. We are looking for someone who is confident in their librarian role and can take the overall responsibility that working in a branch library entails. Braås Library is integrated with Braås School, which means that you and your closest colleague work side by side with the school librarians, but your mission is to be responsible for activities aimed at children and adults during their leisure time. Your responsibilities will include: • Creating and running programs for children and youth • Collaborating with the local community and associations • Planning and implementing programs for both children and adults • Conducting reading promotion activities and events • Developing the service with a particular focus on children • Working at the city library QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is proactive, communicative, and pedagogical. You have the ability to create engagement and interactions that make a difference. You are an outgoing, open, and resourceful person who sees solutions. We would like you to have: • A degree in Library and Information Science • Knowledge of language and reading promotion methods • Good digital competence ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The position is a temporary contract starting February 1 or by agreement. Evening work may occur, and weekend work may also be required. The temporary position is for 75-100%. As a permanent employee, you will typically be assigned to our organization in a designated role.
