Dalarna University Seeks Temporary Lecturer in Legal Studies at One of Sweden's Most Modern Campuses in Central Borlänge. As a lecturer in legal studies, you will have excellent opportunities to play an active role in an important academic environment. You will be part of the legal studies subject group where it is crucial to be able to support and partially replace each other when needed. The subject's role is to provide specialized legal expertise for many of the university's educational programs.
Your Workday as a Lecturer
As a lecturer, you work independently and are responsible for preparing and conducting course components and examinations. The work is varied, and you have great freedom and flexibility to plan and manage your own work. As a course coordinator, you plan and administer the courses for which you are responsible and, if necessary, coordinate the colleagues involved in the course. Since teaching in the subject occurs across several of the university's educational programs, you will work not only with your colleagues in the subject group but also with colleagues from various other disciplines such as business administration, economics, and political science.
Are You the Person We're Looking For?
Qualified to be employed as a university lecturer is someone who:
- Has demonstrated pedagogical skills
- Has completed a master's degree or equivalent academic professional education or has other professional skills relevant to the position's subject content and work tasks
For This Position, We Require:
- Law degree
- At least three years of teaching experience at the university level in legal studies, focusing on general administrative law, municipal law, public access and secrecy legislation, and special administrative law
- Previous experience as a course coordinator and examiner at the university level
- Good ability to teach in Swedish
It is Meritorious If You:
- Have broad experience teaching in various legal areas within both civil and public law
- Have experience with different teaching methods and the ability to adapt teaching to various groups and group sizes
- Have university pedagogical education
Personal Qualities Needed to Succeed in the Role:
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for planning your own work time
- Good collaboration skills
Assessment Criteria
The university will consider the candidate who, after a qualitative overall assessment, is deemed to have the best prerequisites for fulfilling the duties of the position.
Employment
This is a temporary position, 50% employment, starting 2025-01-01 until 2025-06-30 (with possibility of extension). Dalarna University operates in two locations. The workplace for this position is Borlänge, with some work also occurring in Falun.
