In the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör district administration, budget and debt counseling is located within the same unit as the citizen office, summer job administration, and consumer counseling. This is a relatively small unit that facilitates many meetings with residents in the district and collaboration at multiple levels. Here, there is now an opportunity to work in 2026 within a team of high competence and a contagious commitment to its mission! The Role of Budget and Debt Counselor As a budget and debt counselor, you will provide advice to residents seeking support in one of the three areas of the assignment: budget counseling, debt counseling, and assistance with applying for debt restructuring. The role also includes preventive work through lectures and collaboration with other organizations. Our goal is for our clients to have a functioning economy upon completion of the intervention. Who We Are The budget and debt counseling team consists of four counselors. The counselors form a professional team where each employee works independently with their own clientele while supporting and sharing their knowledge with colleagues. In 2026, we hope to secure funding that will allow one of the budget and debt counselors to partially work on a project. Therefore, we are currently seeking a temporary replacement for 2026. The position is contingent upon the approval of the requested funding. Who Are You? To succeed in this role, you need to be a quick learner and receptive to instructions and coaching from your colleagues. To thrive in this position, you should be accustomed to working independently and have a plan for how you structure and prioritize your work. We believe that to be successful, you need to be able to tailor your counseling to the client. Thus, flexible and pedagogical are two words that describe you. As a budget and debt counselor, you will often meet people in crisis. Therefore, it is important that you are a secure person with the ability to meet individuals who are facing various difficulties. Qualifications To be qualified for the position, you need to be a trained social worker or have an equivalent higher education, or alternatively, have a higher education in economics or law. You should have experience working in social services. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with budget and debt counseling. Additional Information The appointment to the position will be made based on the necessary decisions being made. Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.
