JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Working as a Sustainability Strategist for Environment and Climate in Ljungby Municipality means being an important part of our journey towards a more sustainable society and development for more residents and businesses in the municipality. In your role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating environmental and climate issues at a comprehensive level within urban development, in close collaboration with colleagues and in dialogue with relevant external parties. You will contribute to ensuring sustainability perspectives in the municipality's work on physical planning, various urban development projects, and procurement. The role includes preparing and presenting matters to political bodies. Depending on your interests and skills, the work may also include various investigations within urban development.
Current assignments include project management and follow-up of the municipality's energy and climate plan, water services plan, climate adaptation plan, coordination of invasive species work, coordination of strategic water issues, contact person for LONA and LOVA projects, and coordinator for wetland projects. You will be the municipality's contact person in various networks, including Lagan Water Council (action coordinator working for the water council is employed within the department), Swedish Eco-municipalities, and the county's climate adaptation and environmental goals networks.
You will belong to the Urban Development Department, which is part of the Municipal Executive Administration. In the department, you will have around 10 highly competent colleagues working with physical planning, sustainability issues, and other strategic urban development matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate has completed a relevant university/college education for the position and preferably has experience working with strategic environmental, climate, and energy issues at the municipal level. We are seeking someone with a good understanding of sustainability perspectives, ability to see the big picture, and think strategically. You should have a comprehensive understanding of legislation governing the municipality's work in the current areas. You have a structured and solution-oriented approach and can manage time-limited projects. You work well in various group constellations and have excellent communication skills in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. We place great importance on personal qualities.
You must have a Class B driver's license.
