**Area of Operation: Medical Technology and Physics**
We are Uppsala University Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we serve two million people in Central Sweden. There is always something happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se. We welcome your application!
**Our Operations**
Medical Physics is part of the Medical Technology and Physics (MTF) area and is divided into four groups: Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, and Radiation Therapy. Within the Radiation Therapy group, 18 dedicated employees provide physics and technical support to the Radiation Therapy Department at the Department of Hematology and Oncology. We are now looking for a temporary hospital physicist as one of our colleagues is expected to take a leave of absence to try a new job.
For external radiation therapy, we have five Elekta accelerators, including one MR-linac, as well as a Philips Big Bore CT simulator and a Philips Ingenia MR simulator. We use Monaco as our dose planning system and Mosaiq as our oncology information system. For brachytherapy, the department has two Elekta afterloading devices and a contact therapy device from Ariane. Uppsala University Hospital is also part of the Skandion collaboration, which means we prepare patients for proton therapy at the Skandion Clinic.
**Your Mission**
As a hospital physicist in the Radiation Therapy group, you will support the Radiation Therapy Department in the operation, maintenance, and quality control of the systems used to calculate, generate, and record radiation. The role also includes being the first point of contact for the radiation therapy staff during the implementation and preparation of treatments, as well as providing research support to clinical staff when needed. A portion of the position may also be dedicated to conducting your own research related to the radiation therapy operations.
**Your Qualifications**
We are looking for a licensed hospital physicist.
Experience in radiation therapy, particularly with MR-linac, is an advantage. Experience with the use and quality control of AI systems in radiation therapy is also meritorious.
You should have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English, as well as strong collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
**Your Competence**
You should be goal- and results-oriented as well as performance-driven. Additionally, we prefer that you are self-sufficient in your tasks, can handle complex issues, and work well with others.
**We Offer**
A temporary position for at least 6 months with the possibility of extension. Start date to be agreed upon.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
