Would you like to work at a small preschool with a strong commitment, community, and close connection to nature?
We are currently seeking a preschool teacher for a temporary position at Klockarbackens Parent Cooperative Preschool in Nykyrka, Motala Municipality.
The preschool is beautifully situated in the countryside, providing fantastic opportunities for pedagogical work. We have space for 27 children aged 1 to 5 years. Throughout the day, the group of children is divided into smaller groups across our two floors and our large, wonderful yard.
In the kitchen, our chef prepares locally sourced and seasonal food based on the children's preferences – something we are very proud of.
The preschool operates as a parent cooperative, where the guardians, through a board, are the employers and responsible for the development of the operations together with the principal and staff. The team consists of a principal (who also works with the children), five educators, and a chef. Together, we create excellent conditions for education, learning, and community.
Responsibilities
As a preschool teacher, you will lead goal-oriented teaching processes and ensure that planning, implementation, and evaluation always align with the preschool's governing documents. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that care, development, and learning form a cohesive whole. By developing both the pedagogical content and learning environments, you create inspiration and conditions for children's development and learning.
You will promote each child's safety, development, and learning based on their interests, experiences, and needs, always rooted in trust in each child's competence.
As a preschool teacher, you are also responsible for systematic quality work and ensure that each child's development is continuously monitored, documented, and analyzed. You recognize the importance of the entire team being involved and working together as a cohesive unit.
You spark curiosity and a desire to learn, understanding the significance of building good relationships. You collaborate effectively with children, colleagues, and guardians, and communicate clearly and attentively. With respectful interactions and a professional approach, you serve as a positive role model in your work. Your methods are characterized by commitment, creativity, and curiosity.
Community is an essential part of our operations. We regularly meet with all families and participate in shared activities, such as celebrating different holidays.
When staff members have development days, guardians work as substitutes alongside familiar temporary workers in the child group – a valued opportunity for them to gain insight into the operations and get to know the preschool's children.
Qualifications
You are a licensed preschool teacher.
Experience working at a parent cooperative is an advantage for this position.
