About this role

Description At the Primary School Administration, we have a secure and trusting culture. We care about our students and each other. We exist for the students, we collaborate with guardians and each other, and we are open to new thoughts and ideas. Here, we create good conditions for pedagogical development. Become one of us! We are now seeking someone who has great commitment to developing a modern organization with a focus on: • Increasing teaching quality to enhance student learning. • Creating clearer responsibility, governance, and leadership to improve student knowledge outcomes. • Increasing equality between schools to ensure all students have access to high-quality education and to compensate for their different circumstances. Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school centers. The administration includes 138 municipal primary schools where almost 47,000 students attend school daily. The entire administration has approximately 9,700 employees who collectively work to develop and manage the operations - together, we pave the way for the school of the future. Job Responsibilities We are now seeking a mentor and teacher for the grade 4 team. You will, in close collaboration with a mentor colleague, be responsible for teaching in one of our classes. The position is a temporary contract for the spring semester 2026. At Svartedalsskolan, you will have the chance to meet students from all corners of the world. We work on language development in all subjects and conduct active values-based work connected to our approach that diversity and difference enrich. The school is located in a valley near Länsmansgården, approximately 30 minutes from the central station for those traveling by public transport. Around 550 students from grades 4 to 9 attend the primary school, along with approximately 50 students in the adapted primary school. Working together is important to us. The school is divided into grade-level teams where educators and other staff organize around students' school days. Together with your mentor colleague, you will shape the pedagogical activities so that each individual student's unique conditions and abilities are utilized and challenged. We believe that a low-affect approach is important and that all students want to reach their goals. To support this, there is also a present student health team. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is certified and qualified to teach Social Studies and Swedish, English, or Mathematics for grades 4-6. It is a merit if you also have experience working in a multicultural environment. At our school, we value the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Therefore, it is important that those applying have a well-developed communicative ability, which means creating good interactions with both individuals and groups. Furthermore, we desire someone who brings enthusiasm and energy to the team and has a desire to make a difference. You need to have a good ability to collaborate and a willingness to help develop the school's operations. If you can also clearly articulate the goals of the pedagogical activities and see each student's opportunity to reach them, we believe you might be the right fit for the assignment. Welcome with your application! Additional Information As an employee in our administration, you are offered benefits such as wellness allowance, bicycle benefit, and employee support. According to the Education Act, a police record extract must be presented by individuals before employment in preschool activities, school, and school child care. You can order this on the Police website. For this recruitment, we have determined our recruitment channels and therefore decline any additional offers of competence mediation, advertising, or recruitment assistance. We only accept applications through our recruitment system in accordance with GDPR. About Us We create the future in Gothenburg - one lesson at a time Every weekday, thousands of children and young people meet in our schools - with them, we shape Gothenburg's future. In the Primary School Administration, we are 10,000 committed employees working together to ensure all students can succeed and grow, regardless of background or circumstances. You have an important role in creating an equal school with high quality, where you both develop and develop the operations. You build knowledge, community, and future hope together with your colleagues. With us, you can make a real difference. Gothenburg Primary School Administration is responsible for the city's nearly 140 municipal schools, from preschool class to grade 9, adapted primary school, after-school centers, and culture school.
