Within the social care administration, around 1,200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work occurs in elderly care, home care, support for individuals with disabilities, social psychiatry, and individual and family care. Support for individuals with disabilities and social psychiatry is one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS housing, daytime activities, accommodation support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are about 250 employees who are deeply committed to placing the individual's needs at the center and believing in their capabilities. We are looking for engaged and responsible individuals who want to work as guides or contact persons and be an important part of someone else's everyday life. We seek candidates with work experience who are in the middle of their life and are willing to share their time to support a person with a disability towards an active, social, and meaningful life, whether for a few hours a week or monthly. Welcome with your application! JOB DUTIES As a guide or contact person, you will support an individual in their daily life, help with practical tasks, and contribute to their social life. You will create a safe and positive relationship by being a responsive and caring presence. The assignment is based on regular meetings with the person you support, for example, once a week or month, depending on needs and agreements. This is not a traditional employment role but a meaningful assignment where you make a difference in someone’s everyday life. Contact Person (Paid Assignment) The role of a contact person involves using your presence and engagement to help combat isolation and loneliness. You will meet the individual in need of your assistance for a certain number of meetings per month based on an assistance decision. Together, you will decide what activities to do during your time together, which may include going out, talking, baking, walking, watching movies, or engaging in other activities. The most important part is not the activities themselves but that you meet and socialize. The purpose of the meetings is for the person you are a contact person for to receive support in breaking their isolation and loneliness and also to gain encouragement to participate in community activities. With you as support, they can feel safe enjoying time with a friend and perhaps try new activities. Guide (Hourly Employment) As a guide, you will regularly meet a person with a disability who needs support and encouragement to partake in meaningful and stimulating leisure activities. Through your engagement, you help the individual participate in activities and create social contacts. The assignment involves supporting the person to go out, engage in community life, and promote participation on equal terms. This may include accompanying them to recreational, cultural, or sports activities or supporting them in maintaining contacts with friends and acquaintances. Your role as a guide is crucial in strengthening the individual’s independence, participation, and quality of life. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for individuals who are attentive, relationship-oriented, and observant in their contact with others. You should have the ability to maintain professionalism in your role and work with a focus on the individual's needs and interests. You should have a strong ability to take the initiative, as you will be responsible for planning and conducting meetings and activities. It is important that you stay updated on what is happening in the town and what activities are offered to facilitate a fulfilling leisure and community life. Meritorious: - Previous experience as a guide and/or contact person - Work experience within LSS and/or SoL - B driver's license Having a disability within NPF is not a barrier, and we welcome individuals with different personalities.
