As a youth leader, you'll become part of a large work group of 10 colleagues who rotate between Lindängen and Tygelsjö. Nydala Youth Center is a safe and inspiring meeting place focused on movement, health, and community. The two-story facility offers opportunities for various activities. Here, sports are a natural part of daily life – basketball and other team activities attract many young people and contribute to both energy and team spirit. Physical activities are combined with inclusive activities that strengthen youth's self-confidence. The Nydala work group consists of 7 youth leaders who together develop an activity with hope for the future. Job Responsibilities As a youth center assistant, you'll create safe, inclusive, and inspiring youth center activities where children and youth can develop, feel community, and influence their leisure time. With a coaching approach, you'll support and inspire young people to be creative, take initiative, and grow, while being a professional role model and providing secure boundaries. You'll meet young people's needs – both those they express themselves and those you identify as a youth center assistant – and adapt activities to enable both planned and spontaneous activities where youth participation and influence are in focus. The work involves close collaboration with schools, guardians, police, social services, and other local actors. You'll also collaborate with other youth centers and meeting places regarding events and holiday activities, collectively creating safe and positive environments for children and youth. Your base will be at the youth center, with activities extending into the local community to meet and build relationships with young people where they are. You'll participate in all workplace tasks, including planning, implementation, and follow-up. Some ongoing administration and documentation will be required. Qualifications We are seeking someone who: • Has several years of experience working with youth aged 10-18. • Can build safe and respectful relationships with young people. • Is attentive, responsible, and has an inclusive approach. • Is interested in youth participation, influence, and social development. • Can work independently but also contribute actively to a team. • Is flexible and solution-oriented when meeting different situations and needs. • Has good collaboration skills and can work with colleagues, guardians, and other actors. Meritorious: • Experience leading activities in culture, sports, or creative work. • Experience with area-based work. • Education or courses in pedagogy, social work, youth work, or similar field.
