About this role
Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide high-quality, excellent, and safe specialist healthcare.
Ward 7 is one of three medical wards with 24 patient beds each, focusing on cardiac and pulmonary care.
Three years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern ward buildings. Work has changed as each patient is now cared for in a private room, and the ward is equipped with the latest technology in the field.
Since 2022, Ward 7 has been providing advanced cardiac intensive care. On these seven patient beds, we care for severely ill heart patients who were previously treated in the intensive care unit. The work on the ward has thus become more specialized and varied. We are now seeking an additional colleague who wants to join us and further develop cardiac healthcare. Here, you will have great opportunities to encounter many different interesting medical diagnoses across our three wards.
Work Tasks and Approach
From autumn, Ward 7 will be a care ward with 24 patient beds, of which 7 are cardiac intensive care beds, and the work is led by two care unit managers in a shared leadership. The work on the ward is knowledge-intensive, developmental, and exciting, and we provide advanced medical care. We work in teams with a patient-centered approach, collaborating with nursing assistants, nurses, paramedical staff, and doctors to best utilize each other's expertise. We are seeking a nurse for night shift work.
About You
We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others and wants to join our fantastic team, where we collectively drive the operation forward, work on improvements, and create and develop our ward and working methods with patients at the center.
Qualifications
You should be a licensed nurse, and previous experience in medicine or cardiology/cardiac intensive care is meritorious.
It is important to us that you are driven to develop healthcare with the patient at the center, actively share your knowledge with colleagues, and equally curiously learn from your colleagues' expertise.
The length of introduction and supervised training will be assessed based on your individual competence to ensure the best possible start. Additionally, specific training and introduction are provided before working in cardiac intensive care.

Clinical Base Year
For newly graduated nurses/radiology nurses, a Clinical Base Year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Base Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also involves shadowing other departments to gain a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an investment made to give you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
