About this role
Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide high-quality specialist healthcare that is good and safe.
Hello!
We are now seeking someone interested in a combined evening and night temporary position for 12 months with us.
About Us
We are the Orthopedics and Surgery Department at Kungälv Hospital, located on the 2nd floor of our beautiful facilities. Five years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern ward buildings. The department has 28 care places divided into four teams with seven patients per team, where all patients have their own room including a bathroom. The environment is fresh and easy to work in. The department focuses on broad orthopedic and surgical care, both acute and planned. We care for patients with acute conditions following trauma, accidents, and illness. Patients with infections and pain issues are also treated in the department. Monday-Friday, one of our teams is dedicated to elective orthopedic patients who have received a new shoulder, knee, or hip prosthesis.
Our goal is to continuously develop and improve our operations and always strive to become even better regarding patient safety, patient satisfaction, and work environment.
We are keen to maintain a good work climate, a safe environment, and close collaboration during both good and challenging days. Your future colleagues are a wonderful team who are considerate towards patients, relatives, and each other, and together we make the department a place where everyone should feel comfortable.
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you'll have the opportunity to work broadly within orthopedics and surgery, becoming an important part of our change and improvement work, and will collaborate closely with nursing assistants, doctors, and paramedical staff.
What Can We Offer?
- Shift work with evening and night shifts, including weekend shifts
- Competent and wonderful colleagues
Our goal is for all new employees to integrate into the work as effectively as possible, which is why you'll receive an individually tailored introduction.
Who Are We Looking For?
We seek a licensed nurse with an interest in working in emergency healthcare.
It is meritorious, but not required, if you have experience in orthopedic or surgical care and are accustomed to taking responsibility and making independent decisions.
You enjoy challenges, can make quick decisions, and can handle acute situations calmly and methodically. Good collaborative ability, joy in working in a group, and excellent patient and colleague interactions are a given for you. It's also important that you can work independently.
Working in a care ward is a team effort, so we place great importance on personal suitability. We hope you'll become our new colleague!
Clinical Base Year
For newly graduated nurses/radiography nurses, we offer a Clinical Base Year during the first year of your permanent employment. This includes lectures, process-oriented nursing supervision, and practical training at the Simulation Center. You'll also shadow other departments to gain a broader understanding of the hospital. This initiative is designed to help you further develop your profession and build your professional identity.
Additional Information
Interviews will be conducted continuously during the advertisement period, so don't hesitate to submit your application!
We look forward to meeting you!
