Viljan Skogstäppan, Specialized Housing for Adults We are seeking dedicated and empathetic support workers for Viljan Skogstäppan, a specialized housing facility for adults with mental health challenges and functional variations. The facility is operated on behalf of Österåkers municipality and is located in Åkersberga, in a peaceful, nature-adjacent area with the forest as its nearest neighbor. The housing consists of seven ground-floor apartments with access to common areas, a pleasant outdoor terrace, and a lush garden. The workplace is conveniently located within walking distance – approximately 10 minutes – from Åkers Runö station (Roslagen Line), with a bus stop just 200 meters away and a small center with shops and services nearby, making commuting via public transportation easy. About the Support Worker Role We are seeking engaged and innovative individuals passionate about making a difference for people who need support and care in society. Here, you'll have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge and perspectives in a workplace that values compassion and development. As a support worker, you'll assist our clients in their daily lives, helping them interact with authorities, healthcare providers, and landlords. Together, you'll work towards personal goals and improved quality of life. We're looking for someone who is solution-oriented, attentive, and flexible. You should be able to handle stressful situations with confidence and stability. You are responsible and can independently structure your work while maintaining strong collaborative skills and enjoying teamwork. You also have a pedagogical understanding of individuals' diverse circumstances and can adapt your communication style to their needs. You are independent, humble, and responsible – someone who is passionate about care, service, and recognizing each individual's unique needs. Primary Responsibilities: • Primary contact person for the client, facilitating collaboration with healthcare, case managers, psychiatry, or relatives • Documentation according to Social Services Act • Household tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping • Communication and pedagogical support that facilitates daily life and strengthens independence • Contributing to meaningful activities and participation, such as walks, swimming, exercise, and outings Qualifications Requirements: • Educational background in the field or documented experience with similar work with the target group • Swedish language proficiency • Good computer skills Preferred: • Newly graduated in social work and care (nursing assistant/mental health nurse/care assistant), though not mandatory • Experience in care work • Driving license B is preferred but not required Employment Terms Role: Support Worker Employment Type: Fixed-term / Temporary Work Scope: 50-75% Work Hours: Irregular hours – weekdays, weekends, and on-call Start Date: 2026-01-01 Collective Agreement: Yes What Can We Offer You?
