About this role
With the forests of Bergslagen in the north, Lake Mälaren in the south, and a rich cultural heritage that encompasses both a long industrial history, a royal castle, and a unique cultural environment around the Strömsholm Canal, Hallstahammar Municipality is a place that attracts both visitors and new residents. We are a growing municipality with 16,600 inhabitants in a dynamic region with proximity to both nature and the big city. We have a business climate that is among the best in the county and we deliver high-quality welfare services.
Our vision is to be a municipality where everything is simple and close, where innovation and creativity are self-evident. Of course, we show responsibility and commitment to create a better society and environment for future generations. In short, you will find the good life near the big city in Hallstahammar Municipality, whether you live here, run a business, work in the municipality, or are just visiting.
As a receptionist/telephone operator, you will work within the communication and customer center unit. The customer center serves as the "one entry point" into the municipality for our residents, visitors, and businesses. Working with us means constantly striving to create high availability, first-class reception, and a high level of service. We also work closely with the communicators in the unit to ensure that we always have coordinated, current, and requested information available in our channels.
You will work on providing personal service to our customers via email, reception, chat, and telephone. We always aim to resolve as many matters as possible within the Customer Center, which places high demands on solution focus, service-mindedness, and taking responsibility.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Through good service, high availability, and quality, you will provide personal service to our customers via telephone, chat, email, and reception. This involves both searching for information in our systems and maintaining contact with our departments. The work requires the ability to gather, register, and provide information under time pressure, so we want you to have experience with similar tasks. It is meritorious if you also have experience from service-oriented professions such as retail, reception, or customer service. We currently work primarily in Tele2 Switchboard and Artvise, but the work also requires an understanding of the municipality's other systems.
The position requires good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. As Hallstahammar Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, we welcome applicants with knowledge of Finnish and preferably another language.
This is a 50% temporary position until November 2026. You should be able to start immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have upper secondary education, preferably in areas involving service, customer contact, and interpersonal skills. You also have documented experience working in switchboard and reception, focusing on independently solving issues and tasks based on established routines. You are skilled at searching for information simultaneously in different systems and programs and have a good ability to quickly absorb information, learn new tasks and working methods, and adapt to changing circumstances. You have a clear customer and service focus and can adapt to both situations and individuals in a fast-paced environment.
You are social and outgoing, with an interest in other people and experience in addressing customers and communicating adaptively, both in writing and verbally. You are service-oriented, engaged, meticulous, and solution-focused. Everyone working in our customer center focuses on the customer, so we require experience with similar tasks and preferably at least one additional service-oriented role.
We expect you to be a good ambassador for Hallstahammar Municipality. We place great importance on personal suitability.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Here you'll have a varied and enjoyable job where no two days are the same. You'll have close contact with both customers and colleagues, where your contribution makes a significant difference to the customer experience.
