Surahammars Bruk manufactures electrical steel primarily used in electric motors and generators. Within production, there are several areas where chemical engineering knowledge is essential for developing, maintaining, and optimizing processes. This includes acid pickling with sulfuric acid, degreasing with alkaline detergents, and emulsions for lubrication/cooling in the rolling mill.
As a process developer with us, you will work closely with production, quality, the development department, and external partners, focusing on developing, optimizing, and maintaining chemical processes. In this role, you will plan and conduct studies, analyze results, and propose improvements based on your findings. You will also play a key role in risk assessments, supplier evaluations, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in the field.
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have a post-secondary education in chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent experience. You have laboratory experience, a good understanding of chemical analysis, and enjoy combining practical work with theoretical problem-solving. An interest in sustainable process development and technical innovation is important, as well as strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, as the role involves collaboration with both internal and external parties.
Experience with large-scale industrial processes, collaboration with universities or research institutes, and risk assessments of chemicals is an advantage.
