Örebro County has a long history of being a meeting place for people from north and south, east and west. Here, forest and plains, mining districts and agricultural regions intersect.
The county museum building has been closed for an extended period but will soon be renovated. Work is in full swing to fill it with exciting and diverse content.
The Örebro County Museum Foundation is now seeking a conservator positioned at the Cultural History and Exhibition Unit. We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing new knowledge and showcasing and telling more about the region's history through our artifacts.
For 170 years, Örebro County Museum has collected cultural-historical objects, art, and archival materials and today has one of the largest regional collections in the country, with nearly 300,000 objects and over one million photographs.
Are you the one we're looking for?
We are seeking someone who is motivated and enjoys working systematically with museum collections to preserve the region's history, from handling archaeological finds to exhibition production and communication to the public and schools.
You have a strong interest in working with collection care and developing knowledge bases for the museum's exhibitions, mobile stages, and digital platforms.
We expect you to work both independently and in a group. You work proactively, are systematic and responsible, and are comfortable being flexible in different work environments. In the selection process, we place great emphasis on personal qualities.
