The Department of Clinical Sciences (KV) hereby announces a 3-year clinical training position in Veterinary Dermatology.
About the Job
Clinical activities within the field of dermatology at the University Animal Hospital (UDS). This involves participation in undergraduate education (as a clinical supervisor), clinical research within the framework of the program, as well as a limited amount of departmental work. Work during evenings, nights, and weekends may occur.
The Program
The residency program follows the guidelines established by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD). This means that the program lasts for 3 years. It primarily includes a specialization in small animal dermatology, but also rotations in other species such as horses, as well as general area training/research tasks and study corresponding to approximately 30% of the time. Upon completion of the program, the candidate is expected to take the ECVD examination to achieve European specialist (Diplomate) status.
Your Background
To be eligible for the position, a veterinary degree and the right to practice veterinary medicine in Sweden are required, along with a background in mixed small animal practice under the supervision of an experienced clinician/supervisor equivalent to 1-2 years (Internship).
You have a good command of English. Since the position involves extensive contact with pet owners and students, you also need to have, or acquire, knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms.
Teaching and research experience in the field is an advantage.
As a person, you are communicative with a strong ability to create and maintain good relationships with clients and colleagues. You are structured, methodical, have good self-awareness, can handle stressful situations well, and have a desire to contribute to the organization.
Selection among eligible applicants will be based on a written application including a verified CV, thesis, personal references, and an interview. Significant emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
