About this role
General Psychiatry in Piteå is a specialized psychiatric outpatient clinic working in the Piteå Älvdal catchment area, which includes the municipalities of Piteå, Älvsbyn, Arvidsjaur, and Arjeplog. We are a team of around 70 employees at the clinic where we provide psychiatric outpatient care with various treatment and assessment interventions for citizens aged 18 and above, striving to deliver good, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
Our clinic includes various professionals such as psychologists, nurses, physicians, behavioral scientists, specialist doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, rehabilitation coordinators, medical secretaries, and administrators. The Psychiatry Division has begun a transition to Near Care, moving healthcare closer to patients in their homes.
Currently, the clinic is running an exciting project through the Specialist Psychiatric Nursing Team (SPOT), which works preventively to prevent inpatient admissions, reduce full-day care time, and offer greater patient care participation and timely early interventions. In June 2025, the project transitioned to permanent operations, and we continue to develop the service.
