The Occupational and Behavioral Medicine Center (AB-Center) is a university healthcare unit whose overarching mission is to prevent, investigate, assess, and address work, environmental, and lifestyle-related health issues. We also have a medical insurance mandate. AB-Center is one of Region Västerbotten's largest research and development operations, with research and education conducted in close collaboration with Umeå University.
AB-Center is organized into four departments: Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Behavioral Medicine, Stress Rehabilitation, and Medical Insurance Investigation Unit.
Within Stress Rehabilitation, patients with burnout syndrome are assessed, treated, and rehabilitated. The goal is to improve the patient's health, function, and work capacity. The department employs over 20 professionals from various fields. The operations are conducted in Umeå and Skellefteå.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a physician with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes patients and staff feel secure.
In your role as a senior physician/specialist physician, you will meet patients during assessments and follow-up visits. You will actively participate in the rehabilitation of patients according to our multimodal rehabilitation approach. The work is carried out both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with various professional groups.
You will also engage in preventive work through education, information, and counseling, and are expected to contribute to collaboration within and outside Region Västerbotten.
Administrative tasks and quality work are part of your role, and you are also expected to participate in various development and/or research projects.
Work in other departments at AB-Center may be included in your responsibilities, as well as travel and assignments within the region.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a senior physician/specialist physician in general medicine, psychiatry, occupational and environmental medicine, occupational health care, or another related specialty. You have solid knowledge and prior experience working with patients who have work and lifestyle-related issues and illnesses. You have experience in teamwork, development work, research, and teaching. A doctoral degree is an advantage.
You enjoy working in an environment with varied tasks directed towards patients, students, the public, and other stakeholders. You take significant responsibility, perform your work with high quality, and drive it forward with precision, commitment, and initiative. You have strong communication skills in both spoken and written forms and can listen and collaborate with others. As a person, you can manage parallel tasks, are solution-focused, clear, and can adapt to changes in work methods and operations.
