About this role
Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Lasarett, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide excellent and safe specialized healthcare of the highest quality.
About the Operations
Psychiatry Operations is one of nine operational areas within Hospitals in the West.
The operations include both child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry and have approximately 300 employees.
Adult Psychiatry consists of two inpatient wards that both treat general psychiatric patients with subspecialization in addiction, psychosis, and eating disorders. The inpatient wards are located at Kungälv Hospital adjacent to our psychiatric emergency unit. The emergency unit is closed at night, and patients are then referred to the psychiatric emergency unit at SU/Östra. The hospital also houses our ECT and rTMS clinic. Our psychiatric outpatient care consists of three clinics located in Kungälv, Stenungsund, and Älvängen, as well as a newly started digital CS clinic. The operations also include two subspecialized clinics: an eating disorders clinic with day care and a DBT clinic.
We are now expanding our operations with a LARO clinic that will be located adjacent to our inpatient care and emergency unit.

We are now seeking a physician with specialist competence in psychiatry focused on addiction who wants to help establish our LARO operations. You will work closely with your specialist colleagues, both in outpatient and inpatient care, supporting each other during leaves and training, and working closely with and mentoring residents and other training physicians. You will also be part of our on-call team, which includes daytime on-call and emergency coverage on evenings/nights and weekends.
About You
We are seeking someone with specialist competence in psychiatry/addiction. You also need to be on-call qualified. As a person, you are calm and confident in your role as a physician. You are structured, flexible, and easy to collaborate with. You have a good ability to communicate and collaborate with both internal and external partners. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
