The Eye Care Unit at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), with approximately 230 employees, operates in both Malmö and Lund. The unit is at the forefront of both basic and specialist training for doctors. Extensive research is conducted at the ophthalmology departments within Lund University. In addition to meeting the eye care needs of residents in Malmö and Lund, we also provide regional healthcare for the entire Skåne Region as well as Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now seeking a senior physician specializing in ocular plastic surgery.
The position includes outpatient care as well as on-call duties one evening/night or holiday per month. Training of resident doctors and newly qualified specialists is an important part of the role. There is significant opportunity to conduct research in ocular diseases.
The positions are based at the Eye Care Unit at Sus, with some positions primarily located in Lund and others primarily in Malmö.
QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying should be a licensed physician authorized to practice within the Swedish healthcare system and have:
- specialist competence in ophthalmology
- proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale
- completed or planned training in clinical supervision
- at least five years of full-time service (documented effective time)
- clinical skill and independence in ocular plastic surgery
- completed or planned training in clinical supervision
- documented teaching and supervisory merits
- a doctoral degree.
The doctoral degree and/or specialist exam can be credited for a total of six months of clinical service.
We expect you to be goal-oriented with strong collaborative skills. Furthermore, you should be interested in teamwork, development work, and leadership. Personal suitability is of great importance.
At a university hospital, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and training. This can be acquired through supervising nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training, and as a co- or main supervisor of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application any completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.
