Maintenance Company
Tool Maker, Scania Tool Workshop
Welcome to the department where we service and maintain press tools that shape various chassis components in our trucks.
All articles with higher annual volumes are now manufactured in our automated press lines. The flagship is the large 3-press line consisting of 1,250-ton presses.
Additionally, the press inventory includes a robot-serviced 2-press line and a series of hydraulic presses ranging from 100 to 1,500 tons of press force.
Scania's Tool Workshop is a support function for Scania's production, where we work on preventive maintenance and urgent repairs of press tools of various formats.
We work in a flexible environment where we participate in creative discussions to solve problems as efficiently as possible.
As a tool maker, you are responsible for a technically advanced machine park with a large number of different machines. In your work, you carefully follow developed standards for safety, quality, delivery, and economy.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues, managers, and support functions to ensure deliveries, maintain, and continuously improve your machine park. You must be self-driven and take responsibility for your own work.
We prefer candidates with a basic tool maker education, though it is not a requirement, or experience working with tools in previous roles. Documented experience with CNC-controlled machining is a plus.
Work tasks include:
• Working for your own and everyone else's safety in the workshop
• Ensuring through measurements that all dimensions are within set tolerance requirements
• Continuously monitoring the process and work area to secure customer delivery
• Working flexibly and solving problems in the best possible way
• Participating in developing work methods and standards
To succeed, you need:
• Technical high school education or equivalent
• Tool maker training, or professional experience in the field
• Ability to read and understand drawings effortlessly. Experience with MasterCam and Catia is a plus
• Be a creative problem solver, meticulous, positive, and collaborative
• Express yourself fluently in spoken and written Swedish
To succeed in the role, you must be precise, structured, analytical, and results-oriented.
You appreciate working both independently and in a group and are comfortable with responsibility and can work systematically even when the pace is high.
You can quickly adapt when the job requires it and are in good physical shape for an active workday.
