About this role
Are you interested in working with robust, mechanical constructions at the cutting edge of technology? We are seeking a Tool Design Engineer for a high-tech industrial company in Västerås. Here, you will develop custom-designed tools and equipment for dismantling and handling in complex industrial environments – where strength, safety, and precision are at the center.
You will participate in the entire chain: from concept and 3D design to prototype, testing, and finished product. The work will be done in close collaboration with manufacturing, project managers, technicians, and production.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop tools and equipment for cutting, assembly, and lifting
• Perform 3D modeling and detailed design in CAD
• Participate in material selection, strength assessments, and quality assurance
• Prepare technical documentation and instructions for manufacturing and use
• Contribute to testing, prototype development, and improvement work
Your Profile
We are seeking someone who is practically minded and technically curious, with experience in mechanical design and understanding of manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
• Engineer in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing-oriented design
• Knowledge of material selection, welding, and strength calculations
• Experience in heavy industry, preferably hydraulics or tooling is meritorious
• Fluent English; Swedish is an advantage
• Position is subject to export control
