About the Company
Are you ready to take full responsibility for a workshop in transformation and contribute to creating order, structure, and efficiency? We are now seeking a Workshop Manager for an assignment in the public sector where you will have the opportunity to influence both work environment and work methods.
You will have operational responsibility for the workshop and warehouse, focusing on leading daily work, creating structure, and improving the work environment. A crucial part of the assignment is to streamline planning, logistics, and warehouse processes within the workshop operations. You will work closely with a competent team and have significant room to influence routines and work methods.
Scope and Conditions
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7 AM–4 PM
- Start: Immediately
- Assignment duration: Until the end of June, with possible extension
- Location: Västerås
Job Responsibilities
As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for leading and distributing daily work in the workshop and warehouse through active use of daily management such as pulse meetings and workplace meetings. You will plan both short-term and long-term for the workshop's capacity, maintenance, and resource needs. You will analyze existing processes and implement improvements, particularly using Lean principles like 5S. You will optimize warehouse management and internal logistics flows to reduce lead times and costs, and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track improvement efforts. You will drive change management and train staff in new work methods.
Your Profile
We are looking for candidates who have:
- At least 3–5 years of experience as a workshop manager, production leader, or similar leadership position
- Documented experience with Lean/5S and daily management
- Good understanding of logistics, warehouse management, and flow optimization
- Experience in change management and improvement work
- Ability to plan both short-term and long-term
- Good communication skills and leadership experience
- Driver's license B
- Good computer skills, especially in the Office package
- Excellent Swedish language skills, both verbal and written
Merits:
- Experience from public sector
- Experience with similar assignments in workshop/logistics
- C driver's license
- Knowledge of vehicle control or case management systems
Personal Qualities
To succeed in the role, you need to be structured and systematic, with the ability to create order and routines in a dynamic environment. You are responsible and flexible, enabling you to handle both planned and urgent situations. You have good collaboration skills and are communicative, allowing you to engage and lead staff in a clear and inclusive manner.
