About this role

**About the Job** We are currently seeking a lawyer specializing in public access and confidentiality, as well as general documents. The Legal Unit is responsible for the authority's legal matters and contributes to ensuring high legal quality in development cooperation and in Sida's internal administration. This also includes legal support for the development cooperation conducted at Sweden's foreign missions (embassies, etc.) and Sida's guarantee operations. The unit is responsible for Sida's contract templates for our cooperation partners, including multilateral organizations, reviews draft contracts prior to decisions, and has a coordination responsibility for the authority's internal regulations. The lawyers also conduct internal training sessions. The Legal Unit currently employs 19 staff members, one of whom is the authority's data protection officer. The head of the unit also serves as Sida's chief legal officer. All employees within the unit are located in Sundbyberg. The main area of work for the legal advisor is providing legal advice on matters primarily related to contracts, commercial law, and administrative law, including issues of public access and confidentiality as well as public procurement. The position in question will be responsible for managing public access and confidentiality matters and providing legal support regarding general documents and disclosure cases, including appeals in court. **Responsibilities** - Manage administrative law issues, particularly requests for the disclosure of public documents and confidentiality assessments. - Prepare legal investigations and communicate their results within the authority. - Contribute to methodological and development work within the own area of expertise and in the authority's overall operations. - Train employees within the area of expertise, both at Sida and at Sweden's foreign missions (embassies). To meet the challenges the world faces today and in the future, we need people with diverse backgrounds and skills. **Qualifications** **Education** - Law degree (270 credits) or equivalent. **Languages** - Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. **Work Experience and Knowledge** - At least 3 years of experience working with Swedish law regarding public access and confidentiality. - At least 5 years of experience in qualified legal work from, for example, a court, another government authority, a law firm, or equivalent. **Functional Competencies/Abilities:** For this role, you need to: - Be able to lead yourself and take responsibility for your own development. - Take initiative and be proactive. - Have the ability to handle stress, uncertainty, and risks. - Be good at collaborating and building trusting relationships. - Be able to handle resistance, be flexible, and solution-focused. - Communicate strategically to influence, negotiate, and mobilize. - Contribute to and absorb knowledge and evidence. - Translate experiences and lessons into action. **It is advantageous if you have:** - Knowledge of and extensive experience working with public access and confidentiality, the Archives Act, and related issues, including in a digital context. - Knowledge of and experience in administrative law. - Knowledge of and experience working with international development assistance. - Experience in training employees within the area of expertise. **Good to Know** The position is a permanent employment with immediate start.
