RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Agency Legal Counsel in the Legal Section for Enforcement, Criminal Law, etc., you will provide legal advice to the agency's management and other parts of the organization within enforcement legislation, criminal and procedural law, and related issues. You will continuously provide legal support in change and development processes and contribute to the agency's legal governance.
Responsibilities also include overseeing revision and follow-up of the agency's regulations and general guidelines, as well as other governing documents. You will prepare and present agency referral statements and draft responses to bodies such as the Parliamentary Ombudsman and Chancellor of Justice. The role may involve submitting legislative change requests to the government. You will provide support in legal proceedings, represent the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in court, and make decisions in certain compensation and damages cases.
The legal counsel position is independent and varied. The work involves ongoing contact with the Government Offices, other authorities, and various parts of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. There are good opportunities for up to 60% remote work, depending on individual circumstances. Location: Stockholm/Gothenburg/Malmö/Norrköping
