JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Government Legal Counsel in the Legal Section for Enforcement, Criminal Law, etc., you will provide legal advice to the agency's management and other parts of the organization within enforcement legislation, criminal and procedural law, and related issues. You will continuously provide legal support in change and development processes and contribute to the legal governance within the agency.
The role includes responsibility for revising and following up on the agency's regulations and general guidelines, as well as other governing documents. You will prepare and present the agency's consultation responses and draft opinions for bodies such as the Parliamentary Ombudsman and Chancellor of Justice. The work may also involve submitting requests for legislative changes to the government. You will provide support in legal proceedings, represent the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in court, and make decisions in certain compensation and damages cases.
The position of Government Legal Counsel is independent and varied. The work involves ongoing contact with the Government Offices, other authorities, and various parts of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. There are good opportunities for remote work of up to 60 percent, depending on individual circumstances.

We are looking for someone who has:
• Law degree
• Judicial clerkship
• Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
