About the position
Do you want to work as a legal counsel in a socially significant enterprise - in a developing environment with international connections?
Svenska kraftnät is rapidly expanding due to a combination of Sweden's energy transition and a sharply increasing demand for electricity, which involves numerous market actors and also leads to rapidly increasing international cooperation within the electricity sector. Therefore, we are strengthening our operations with a legal counsel focused on supporting the authority in a range of different issues.
Your responsibilities
The job involves providing support to the organization with legal assessments primarily within the electricity legislation area and the associated EU regulations, mainly in the areas of operations and the electricity market. The work also involves supporting the organization with legal issues that arise during the implementation of various regulations, such as in decisions and contracts. Together with the organization, you will review what changes may need to be proposed in various regulations and develop and review templates and contractual terms. You will provide support during assessments under the electricity act and EU regulations, and your work will take place in close collaboration with the organization. To thrive in this role, it's important to be curious and interested in understanding new issues.
In addition to electricity legislation, you will have the opportunity to work broadly with various other regulations, including administrative law, contract law, and public access and confidentiality.
As a legal counsel at Svenska kraftnät, you will have the opportunity to develop your ability to work at the interface between technology and law, dealing with strategic legal issues. As a legal counsel, you work independently and hold significant responsibility for the legal matters you handle. You work in close cooperation with the organization. In order to meet the energy transition and ensure society's electrification, our operations are developing quickly. You need to have the willingness to find suitable solutions even when the law is complex or difficult to interpret.
The legal department employs approximately thirty legal counsels divided into three units, dealing with, among other things, international issues, IT law, electricity legislation, administrative law, construction law, contract law, procurement law, and labor law. Daily work is conducted in dialogue with the parts of the organization that are dealing with current issues, and we strive to provide operationally close legal support. The System Law Unit works, among other things, with international cooperation, operational and electricity market issues, connection issues, and electricity law, including both EU law and national law.
