About this role

About the Position

We are strengthening the City Environment Administration’s work on safe, equitable, and attractive living environments and are therefore seeking a business developer responsible for process management and business development in these areas.

The position is located in the Place Development and Collaborative Unit, where we use collaboration and place development as tools for creating good living environments. In our work on place collaboration, we analyze needs and initiate actions to collaboratively develop the city. We also contribute to tangible development by testing, co-creating, and building knowledge about how the city can evolve through prototypes in public spaces to better achieve our goals for a sustainable city.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to work on business development and process issues in an evolving organization, drive progress on social sustainability and safety matters in urban development, and collaborate internally on cross-administrative issues. You will work in a dynamic environment that provides significant opportunities and demands a high degree of adaptability to new circumstances. Does this sound interesting? Do not hesitate to submit your application!

In parallel with this position, we are also looking for a development leader; see the advertisement (https://goteborgsstad.varbi.com/what:job/jobID:869795/).

Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the unit in developing business and process issues, particularly focusing on cross-administrative work related to safety matters. The work also includes:

  • Development, management, and follow-up within process, systems, and GIS for flows between departments and the administration's deliveries
  • Supporting planning leaders for place and area collaboration in internal cooperation and process flow
  • Analyzing the administration’s ability to deliver against needs and goals
  • Providing support to process owners
  • Leading or supporting development initiatives within the unit’s mandate

Qualifications

For this position, we require a higher education degree in community development, quality management, business development, process development, or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer. Furthermore, a minimum of two years of work experience in process work or quality and business development is required.

Proficiency in GIS and a good understanding of technical systems tools are desirable. Experience in a leading role within process management or expertise in urban development, particularly concerning social sustainability, will also be advantageous.

Personal Competencies

We seek a driven and responsible business developer who is change-oriented and motivated to create positive outcomes through collaboration and innovative solutions. In this role, you will work at various levels, requiring analytical skills and the ability to identify connections and patterns that help you make well-informed decisions. You enjoy taking initiative and are motivated to bring about change. You take responsibility for your tasks and ensure they are executed to the best of your ability. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are open to new ideas and approaches. You value teamwork and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Additional Information

Currently, our workplace at Köpmansgatan 20 is undergoing renovation, where all urban development administrations will be gathered. The new premises are expected to be completed by 2026 – until then, we are located at Postgatan 10.

With us, you will work in an administration focused on development, collaboration, and diversity. We offer flexible working hours (with exceptions in certain departments), wellness benefits, and bicycle perks – allowing you to combine an exciting job with a sustainable private life.

As an employer, we have an obligation to ensure that individuals have the right to reside and work in Sweden. Therefore, you will need to present your passport or national ID card at a physical interview. Selection and interviews are ongoing, so do not wait to submit your application!
